Weeklender
Plan your week.
Weeklender is a Mac app for writing your week in Markdown while keeping Calendar and Reminders in view. Each day gets its own file (yyyy-MM-dd.md). You choose where files live, including iCloud Drive or Dropbox, so your notes stay portable and easy to back up. A scratch file holds notes until you move them to a day.
It suits journaling, weekly reviews, and notes that mix bullets with times and appointments. It is not meant to replace a full calendar suite or a heavyweight task system.
Three views
- Daily (⌘1): focus on one date.
- Weekly (⌘2): see the whole week.
- Scratch (⌘3): an inbox for snippets before you file them.
Sidebar and calendar
The sidebar shows the week (and optionally a month calendar in preferences). Events and reminders come from Apple's apps, filtered by the lists you choose.
Times in text
Type times such as @3pm or @15:30. With Calendar sync on, Weeklender can create matching events on a calendar named Weeklender (about one week past through one month ahead).
Markdown
Supports ordinary bullets and task checkboxes (- [ ] / - [x]).
Quick add
Use the toolbar or ⌘⇧N to parse plain language (for example Lunch tomorrow at 12pm) into calendar events or reminders.
Light calculations and timers
Lines can assign values and simple sums; timer rows can run a stopwatch or countdown, with an optional menu bar readout.
Focus mode
⌃⌘F hides extra chrome so you can concentrate on writing.
Dock and menu bar
Optional Dock icon with date, badge counts for today's tasks and reminders, and a menu bar peek at upcoming items.
Themes and typography
Several editor themes and fonts; adjustable sizes.
Backups
The app keeps local snapshots so you can recover recent versions if something is deleted by mistake. You can clear old backups in Preferences → Storage.
